Our Taman Negara Road TripContinued from page 5The climb up to the beginning point of the Canopy Walkway can be strenuous if you are not fit, so travel as light as possible. Walking on the world's longest suspended bridge is a thrill you don't want to miss; the Canopy Walkway suspends 30 meters above ground and stretches 400 meters. Walking along the swaying bridge at that height takes a little nerve, but try it, nevertheless. You'll come off elated! Back on the ground again, Angie showed us the famous Tongkat Ali tree. I had a taste of its leaf---Argh! We went further up Bukit Teresek to peek at Gunung Tahan , but it was a hazy day, so no view of Gunung Tahan, sadly. Upon Angie's advice, I bagged my video camera in a plastic bag, and hopped on the narrow speedboat yet again. This time we were headed for Kuala Trenggan; from there, we would let the river's strong current carry our boat over rough rapids. Yes, we were on our way to get wet, very wet. On our way up Kuala Trenggan, we had witnessed fellow adventurers bobbing in and out of the water---the rapids had beat them. We were not going to let that happen to us, so we held on tight as the boat bumped about over the rocks underneath the water. Adrenaline rushed through our blood while the river spat us with mighty splashes of cold Tembeling water. I could feel my heart beat against my ribcage as I held my breath and gripped tight at the sides of the jolting boat. We sighed as the boat gained control again over calmer waters. Tackling the Seven Major Rapids down from Kuala Trenggan was a real excitement. Trekking up Bukit Teresek was a great workout. Crossing the longest suspended bridge was heart thumping. All that was left was FOOD, and we couldn't wait to WACK it! We slept well, woke up late, and missed the morning boat back to Tembeling Jetty. We intentionally missed the morning boat, for we wanted to take it easy.
The afternoon boat to Tembeling Jetty was a luxury, for we were the only two on board. At the Jetty, we were picked up by the minibus back to Sri Emas Hotel. Of course, by then no one was around to greet us, so we hopped into our car and drove off. We didn't end our Malaysia trip there and then; we headed to Cameron Highlands and had more pleasurable times---Watch the VIDEO . Thank you for reading my travelogue. I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I had writing it. Best Regards,
